Apple Unveils New Watch, iPhone 11 at Cupertino Headquarters

Apple has generated a ton of excitement among its fans after releasing details about a brand new iPhone 11 at a press conference held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California on Tuesday. The tech company's annual conference held at the Apple Campus is a chance for Apple to show off its latest innovations and upgrades to its products and this year was no exception.

The day began with an update on Apple's brand new streaming service - Apple TV. The company announced that the service will reportedly cost users $4.99 a month and is scheduled for launch on November 1. One bit of good news for anyone who's looking for a new phone - anyone who purchases a new phone will get a year's subscription to the service.

We also learned more about Apple's proposed "Apple Arcade," the company's mobile gaming subscription system. More than 100 games including Frogger, ToyTown, and more were announced as coming to the standalone service. Arcade is slated for launch on Sept. 19 and will cost users $4.99 a month.

Next, the company moved onto news about the hardware upgrades coming to its popular iPad, iWatch and iPhone models. The latest iteration of Apple's popular table will have a larger 10.2-inch Retina display and made out of recycled aluminum. The 7th generation iPad will cost $329 for the base model and will begin shipping by the end of the month.

The Apple Watch will also get an upgrade as the company announced the Series 5. The new model features an always-on Retina display as well as a built-in compass. The watch also allows you to make emergency calls in over 150 countries - even if you don't have your phone nearby.

"We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about."

The watches are scheduled to go on sale Sept. 20 and start at $399 for a GPS-only model and $499 for the cellular model.

Then came the announcement everyone has been waiting for - details about the iPhone 11 were revealed Tuesday and it doesn't look like it will disappoint. The company said the new phone will feature a 6.1 inch display along with an updated dual camera that features an ultra-wide setting that allows photographers to take wider shots without losing any of the image's quality. The 12-megapixel camera included on the phone can also record slow-motion videos and capture 4K video at 60 frames per second.

The iPhone 11 will start at $699 and will be made available in six different colors including; green, black, white, yellow-gold, purple and in a Product RED option.

“iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are the most powerful and advanced smartphones we have ever made. They are packed with sophisticated technology that pros can count on to get their work done, and for anyone who wants the very best device made, even if they are not a pro,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

The company is also offering the iPhone 11 Pro, which will be similar in design to the iPhone XS, but will feature three rear cameras, including wide, ultra-wide, and 2x-zoom lenses. A promised software update coming later this year will reportedly be able to use machine learning to fuse the best parts of nine images taken by the phone to create the best photo possible.

Battery life will see a significant improvement as well with Apple saying the iPhone 11 Pro Max's battery can last up to 5 hours longer than the iPhone Xs Max. The iPhone 11 Pro will be the top of the line model for the company, featuring a 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch options. That model will start at $999, the iPhone 11 Max will run you $1099.

The iPhone 11 Pro comes in midnight green, space grey and silver and gold.
